Consulting Services

    Skye Educational Consulting, LLC adheres to the Standards for Educational and Psychological testing developed jointly by the American Educational Research Association (AERA), American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) and as required under the Individuals with Disabilities Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA) and the Connecticut and New York State Departments of Education regulations regarding the evaluation and review of evidence supporting the development of individualized education programs for students with disabilities.
Advocacy Support for Families
  • Initial consultation with parents and child as appropriate
  • Review of school information and any previous evaluation results and/or current Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives for learning, including progress toward those goals or current Section 504 Accommodation Plan
  • Observation of child at school as appropriate
  • Consultation with parents to assist in the process of referral for eligibility for special education and related services and preparation for Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings or Section 504 Accommodation Plan meetings
  • Consultation on IEP or 504 Plan development
  • Accompaniment to team meetings at school
Consulting to Independent Preschools
  • Identification of children with disabilities
  • Program development to implement inclusive practices
  • Assistance formulating strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Staff development on topics in education such as Literature and Language Development, Developing Early Numeracy Skills, Managing Challenging Behaviors and Developing Social Skills
